"Service Denied"

I have a Sprint Evo 4G phone. I have been texting photographs with it for years. As recently as 12/5 I texted photos. Now, when I try to text a photo, it times out and says "Service Denied." I have tried reducing the resolution of the pictures in case they were too large. I have updated the PRL and PROFILE then rebooted. I finally did a FACTORY DATA RESET, all for naught.

I am out of ideas. Any clue as to why the phone quit sending photos or a way to fix it? I can still send photos via email from the phone just fine.

Unless running a special app
You cannot text over WiFi,
Text and mms use either 3G or EVRC voice network
Text msg service was designed from the beginning to use evrc, does not require 4G

E-mail uses the internet, so it can be sent via WiFi
Mms uses the cellular voice network, cannot be sent via WiFi directly

If you can make phone calls , not Skype, you should be able to mms
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

OP here. OK, I am going to try to hit all of your questions.

Sprint hold time was horrendous, I will try them again later when I have time to wait.

Google search said to try all the things the first post said I did.

No copyrighted material. All photos taken with my phone's camera.

Connected to 3G network and/or my home WIFI. 4G is not available in my area.

I haven't been able to find an MMS configuration. I will keep looking.

We plan to jump to Verizon next OCT when our contract expires, so I don't want to upgrade my phone now and get a new contract. I may have to live without texting photos first.

Sounds like an issue with MMS to me. Again, calling Sprint should be the way to go in this case, because this is likely an issue on their configuration.

If Sprint is like my provider they may have a few roaming agreements.. If you are on a non-sprint network tower,, It may deny other than basic calling, depending on the agreement the provider (Owner of tower) has with Sprint.

But ... As the first (I think) reply suggested.. CALL SPRINT.

I just solved a problem with my 24 hour old laptop by calling the manufacturer.. It was covered by warranty, and it was a simple configuration issue.. They found it (Took her a while too) and fixed it by reomte control no less.

Agreed, I have our data service on Verizon (Jetpack), the coverage is no comparison. Yes, Wimax is still operational but all the new build $ are going to LTE. I actually have 4G LTE here in Louisville on Sprint now.

Sprint roams on Verizon for voice (CDMA) but Verizon bumps Sprint data roaming down to 1X-RTT on their network.

Sounds like a phone settings issue
Either that or the phone is malfunctioning
I can explain it to you.

I got an Evo when they first came out in 2010. Finally traded it in for an S4 (still on Sprint) and WOW what a difference. That plus my Evo was a 4G Wimax phone, and Sprint has since dumped Wimax for LTE.

A few other options. Check to see if the MMS option is disabled under you phone's Settings>Wireless & Networks>Mobile networks>APNs? Not all phones have this option.

Log into your account with Sprint, and see if there is an option for MMS, and if it's been disabled?

That sounds like a Sprint network issue, not an issue with your phone. Does the home screen say you are connected to the Sprint 4G network?

What did Sprint say when you called them?
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?
