Sorry , I need to start from the beginning again.
I took the second receiver SD12-500 from my girlfriends house , and want to take it rving with us.
But lets start at home on my tV.
I purchased used a slimlime dish and SL3S lnb exactly like the one on her roof .
When I hook up everything to my to my tv and run run System Test , I get SWM not detected but im sure this is not the newer SWM LNB .
Now im not 100% positive my dish is pointed exactly correct but i have used DishPointer.com to try my best ....Your help would be greatly appriciated. Thank you , D

Should then get to the next step which is no signal and you get to aim the dish.

Ok , I made a mistake , it is a SL3S4NR2-02 swm lnb.
I guess i will need a 21V Power Inserter installed inline.

Then will it work with my D12-500 receiver ?

Perhaps.. then you get to aim it.

That is exactly correct Bob. The receiver can be difficult to get out of that mode once setup that way and you must do it while connected to the antenna using the Repeat Satellite Setup routine.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

Yet you posted " I get SWM not detected". Sounds like you have the receiver configured for a SWM dish.

No green label , no swm. She just has basic cable , no HD , 2 receivers.
Maybe i can get pics to a photo sharing site.

Does the LNB on your antenna have a green label on the front? If so it's likely a SWM LNB. In a home there will be a power inserter "somewhere" in the home but only one and not at each receiver. It could be anywhere.
If you go into the Repeat Satellite Setup routine you will want to set the antenna type to 18" round which should force the receiver to a multi-switch setting. If you have a SWM LNB you can either pick up a PI21 power inserter or buy a non-SWM LNB as a replacement.

Found this on another RV forum: In setup, this might help: Highlight the multiswitch setting first and select "multiswitch". Then you should be able to change the dish type.

I could not locate anything called an SD12-500.

You probably need a power inserter for the lnb. Do you have that?
