Suggestions on systems. Do i need just phone coverage with hot spot? will that be good for laptop? Also does hot spot work with TV or should I get two systems. Ive heard about star link but is that for a trailor? Also what about the systems that are specifically for RVs are they any good and any recommendations

I get 50 gigs of hotspot data with my cell plan. If cell service is decent works good with roku. I'll use it when I can't get anything to come in on OTA.

I use Visible which is owned by Verizon thus it uses Verizon towers. Their services are unlimited data for everything including hotspot. Price starts at $25/month. If you intend connect more than one device you may need to add a wireless router. Some phones allow multiple devices. I have been using Visible for 5 years and they have been great.

If you go somewhere without any cell service a hotspot won't do you any good. At that point, you may need to think about StarLink, then the view of the sky could become an issue.

The answer to all your questions is; it depends. Do you work from home, do you stream content? How important is coverage, are your TV smart TV's?
A cell phone hot spot can be used to do work etc, but typically people who work remote and stream a lot of content; end up getting a dedicated hot spot. A dedicated Hot Spot is stronger, farther reach and has better battery management.
If you stream content on your TVs, they will either need to be smart TV's with a built in wifi receiver, or you will need a firestick or Roku.
Whatever your methods of consuming content, if you are consuming more than a few gigs, you will want an unlimited plan. Otherwise, overages will break you.
Do some shopping around. There are a lot of youtube videos on good plans for RVer's. I was looking hard at Calyx institute.
