Winnegard Trav'ler Sattelite Won't Lock on Sats

Had the TV on quite a bit Saturday since I had just called Dish for a hit on the receiver (been idle for several months). Went out today to start the dish up again and it refuses to find and lock on to the 110, 119, 129 that it needs to operate. This is the automatic 1000S for Dish Network. Sure would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure we did that when we installed it. My buddy is going back up on roof when we get a nice day and bring down the a/c covers which are cracked so we can repair them. At that time, I'll have him re-check the cables. Thanks Bill.Satellite.

Be sure that all of your coax connections on the Trav'ler itself have a dab of di-electric grease inside. This will keep air and moisture out and prevent corrosion which can create a bad connection.

Well, we wiggled the wires around on the satellite control box, cleaned the dish and the LNBs and loosened, wiggled around and tightened the connections on the satellite base. Started the system back up and it found the satellites and locked in on all three. Guess just a little TLC once in awhile helps.:S

I would suggest that you should do a Calibrate EL routine. Instruction to do this can be found in the owners manuals. Once it says it is successful, stow the dish and start a new search.

Thanks for the reply. After they gave the receiver a hit on Saturday, all channels works fine and the satellite dish was locked on all three
satellites. The coach hasn't moved for three months and has always been able to receive connection to all satellites. The unit has no error codes or messages. It just indicates "searching". Every minute or so it would stop for a couple of seconds, then begin again. It has worked flawlessly since we installed it several years ago. Yes, it is the SK-1000. The unit acts normal in that it stands up and rotates fully around, then starts the search. Just won't pick up on the signals.

I assume you mean the Winegard SK-1000. First, if the receiver was not connect to a connection that was already pointed at the satellites the receiver cannot receive the hit sent by Dish so once you do get the antenna online you will have to call again for another hit.
Second, if the 119 satellite is blocked or the signal too weak the Trav'ler will not lock on despite being able to locate others. What message appears in the controller when it stops searching and it the antenna up in the air or stowed.
Where are you currently located and has the antenna worked properly in that exact location in the past.
Any additional info would also be helpful about what has been done since the last time the receiver was connected to the Trav'ler.
