Cheap Sway Control

Would something like this for $45 be perfectly fine for a 15' (19' bumper to tongue) trailer, pulled by a 1/2 ton truck:

Are the $250+ with the spring rods worth getting?

Should EVERYONE have sway control? Why isn't it standard?

I use a friction sway bar on our 25 ft and it is rock solid.

That setup would be fine for your trailer. I used something similar with Reese friction sway control on my old 25ft trailer for about 9 years and it worked fine.

@gbopp, I'm an IT guy I should have done that haha, thanks for the assist.

I think I get it, the sway bar is for left to right, and the spring rods are for front to back?

Didn't realize the spring bars reduced load.

Is it a fair statement to say sway control and weight distribution save fuel?

I used the cheap ones for years on my travel trailers.

That is a sway control kit, as you said.....



The thing with the spring bars is a weight distributing hitch. It reduces the tongue weight on your hitch, helps your trailer ride more level
