Hi, just wanted to introduce myself to the forum, I'm Robb and I'm new to camping. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good places around the Cleveland Ohio Area. Also and tips to nice places around Columbus would be helpful.

Thanks,

Robb

Take a short ride to Monroe, MI and then go to Greenfield Village and Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI. You can spend weeks there and even learn things. Monroe for the CGS and Dearborn for the museums.

Welcome. Hope you have many good, safe, and memorable trips. I am not familiar with your part of the country but can give you some good recommendations for down here in Louisiana. If you should come, please come hungry...LOL

Robb, Welcome. Don't know about your area, but here's another site to check outuscampgrounds. We use it all the time:
Just go to the map and put in the state of interest and a wealth of info appears.

Hope This Helps

Welcome. State parks are always nice.

Hey there, welcome!

Be sure to check out Mohican State Park. Not too far south. Hocking Hills is also a great area. We've also enjoyed Salt Fork and Alum Creek State parks.

Think about the kind of activities you are interested in (horseback riding, boating, hiking, and do some searching.) Lucky us here in Ohio, there are quite a few good options close by.

Somebody else already said: Search these boards, there is a section dedicated to parks and attractions as well as roads and routes for longer trips.

We have been to the Shelby-Mansfield KOA and liked it very much. If you have kids, they will really like it.

We also spent a week at Evergreen Park in Ohio Amish Country this summer. Neat area. The park is nice, but the spots are small. Looked at others in the area while we were there and they all seem to be about the same. We would go back to this park... Here is a thread on the area. Ohio Amish Country

Have you thought of Hocking Hills?

Use the search engine... Plenty of cool places along the Eastern edge and the Ohio River. Not all of it looks like corn country!!!

Let us know what you find. Others might like to go there also.

Have fun out there!
