SE Financial RV Financing Experiences (or other)

Hi All, I am looking for specific information about these people and my forum search yielded no results.

On paper they seem to be a good fit for us (Purchase, 2005 - 2007 Class A, desire 144 month term) but thus far their customer service is horrible.

I hate feeling like I am "earning" the right to be someone's customer.

I made contact with Goodsam as well and the guy just seem completely indifferent about me and my needs. My bank would do it in a heartbeat but term is too short for our budget.

So, does anyone have experience with them (good or bad) and if good, do you have a specific contact person?

Also open to suggestions for other financing sources.

Thanks in advance!

First off, thanks everyone for your replies - IMO web forums are the greatest resource out there for "newbies" and it's always nice to land somewhere that folks are responsive.

I am usually of the school that I will tolerate "x" amount of BS to save a buck but my bank works hard for me so I feel like any prospective creditor should at least care.

I actually gave them an exact scenario and asked them to quote based on those assumptions including FICO scores and D to I ratio - she didn't even read this part LOL

Jayco, no offense, taken - I understand your position and I agree in principle. My thing is if I have an 8-10% return on cash elsewhere, I will finance about anything at 4.8% all day long. That and I would likely never go the full 12 years on a 8 year old MH, but I want to get on the road before my daughter graduates HS and I need to stay liquid so that's that ๐Ÿ™‚

I went back to Goodsam today and received yet another "ho-hum" response.

I just don't get it. I know that credit rules are far more lax than they were 20 years ago (ok, but not 10) and therefor more customers (in theory) but I would bet that the downturn in credit worthiness has outpaced the increase of "qualifying applicants".

I'll stop there before I ramble on aimlessly about the "new" credit score models that the bureaus sell you vs. the tried and true model that banks use...

should have told yourself that and saved me the effort. Be so nice around here if people did not think that they were such great oracles!

I just can't resist lecturing a little. Do you really plan to finance an RV for 12 years? Bad idea. The depreciation of the RV will out pace your balance reduction early on and you will have a major upside-down loan so that if you sell or total it you will have a big loan balance left. No one should make that kind of loan to you for your protection and theirs. Ok, I'm done so you can all hate me and tell me it's none of my business.

Until you come up with a definite RV to purchase they can't give accurate info either. Rates will be different on a 2005 than a 2007. The type of MH will make a difference and the term will also vary by what you are purchasing.

I can overlook a lot of bad customer service if the terms and rates are really good (money talks). However, all else being equal, good customer service trumps bad customer service (bull$&!* walks). So if you can do as good - walk. If not, how much you willing to put up with at what price?

Never heard of them, but Knowing this up front, would turn me off instantly.
