Just too my old used up one out and stuck my pressure washer in the hole and blew out all the crud.
I prefer a 'power flush'
Remove drain plug/rod, turn on water supply and stand back.
Nothing sticking in thru drain hole so water pressure BLOWS crud out W/O any obstructions .......cold inlet dip tube points downward and really stirs up the sediment on bottom of tank.
Especially Atwood which has a 1/2" drain hole (Suburban 3/4")
Stick a wand in Atwood and most of drain hole is blocked :S
