To tire shine/gloss or not?

Is the use of a tire shine/gloss product recommended or not? For the trailer tires? Tow vehicle tires? Passenger vehicle tires?

If you like the look, then add the tire shine. I use black magic tire wet on both cars, but not on the truck or trailer.

Are Armorall, 303, Wesley’s, Meguiar's pretty much the same ingredients?

I use various products. Armor all, 303, Wesley’s tire wet. And now the dealer I’m at I use what they have. Never had a tire degrade because of it! And it finishes off the cleaning/waxing of the rig!

It's not "recommended" per say, it just looks cool. I use Meguiar's Ultimate Black on my vehicle tires.

Years back I was using tire treatment on my trailer. After about 3 years I started getting ozone cracks. This was on new tires. I haven't treated my trailer tires since and change them out because of age, not ozone cracks.

Nothing is actually NEEDED to be used on tires other than giving them a good bath from time to time. Using petroleum based products would not be wise, using Aerospace 303 may provide some UV protection. I use it, mainly because... well just because.

I keep mine covered in mud as much as possible. Protects great from the UV.

I have used these products on all the above, although sporadically on our RV tires as we tend to venture down dirt roads and such in search of the perfect camp site. I primarily use Aerospace 303 on our RV tires, graphics and such, I have never noticed any issues with using tire shine products on our automobiles in the past.
