Weight Distribution hitch with anti-sway bars

Hello all, new to the RV Forum. We have recently upgraded from a large pop-up to our first travel trailer. We bought a StarCraft 24RLS, 29', tandem wheels and all the amenities...well, at least for us.

Since we were pulling a 3200lb pop-up, and now move to a 6000lb TT, we are looking at adding a weight distribution hitch with anti-sway bars. Any suggestions?

Tongue weight of the TT is 560-600lbs, TT weighs approximately 6000lbs gross combo weight. Looking at a WD hitch with a tongue capacity of 1000lbs and 12,000lbs GCVW. Does this sound right?

Thanks for any help. Looking forward to the answers.

X2 on Blue Ox Sway Pro. Easy set up, quiet, very happy with it.

Blue Ox Sway Pro - no popping or banging making it the quietest WDH. Also all of the pivot points are sealed with grease fittings making it almost grease free when handling and storing. I've had the Resse Dual Cam and a Reese WDH with friction sway bars. Every WDH I had worked well for my TTs, but for ease of initial installation and day to day towing I prefer the Blue Ox.

I've been using the Equal-I-zer brand hitch for four years with at first a Totota Tundra, and the last two years with the truck / TT combo in my signature. No issues, smooth uneventful ride!

I towed a Starcraft Autumn Ridge 264RKS with a Chevrolet 1/2 ton for 18,000 miles. My hitch setup was a Reese Dual Cam with 1000 lb tongue weight rating and 10,000 lb GVRW fro the camper. My trailer had a max weight rating of 8200 pounds. If the Reese hitch is setup correctly, it is easy to tow a 6000-8000 lb camper (IMHO)

What is your tow vehicle? I would not bother if its a 1 ton dually. 1/2 ton not going to be fun even with a hitch?? Yes that hitch should be fine.
