2012 Mastertow 80THDEB License Mount

We are having an issue while towing our 2009 Malibu - our license plate literally rips out of the bracket and the license is metal, albeit thin metal.

Anyone else experience this problem? We have not bottomed out and it is mounted on the left side of the tow dolly directly below the brake light.

This is the 2nd license that needs to be replaced, the first having been lost before we noticed it was gone. :h

Ours was never licenced, told by the dealer that the MTO treated it like a piece of towed equipment (cement mixer/construction generator on wheels etc).

Hi Beverley and Ken,

When we purchased the tow dolly from the dealer at the same time as the new RV, we licensed it. The link to MTO you provided refers to inspection so I'm a little confused (which isn't hard to do lol).

Is it possible to change the licence plate bracket to project about the taillight fixture and possibly move it outboard from the car. We are fortunate in ON, that a licence plate is NOT required on a tow dolly.
