Another Killer Deal at Camping World

I was looking for a Atwood #90205 tankless water heater. CW has it on sale. CW SALE GS members get free shipping.

Then I searched further same item at Amazon Link Everyone gets free shipping.

That is over $300 more at CW on an item that is on sale. Their "sale" price is higher than the Amazon list price. Buyer beware I guess.

Ditto on that!

Now that Amazon is charging tax on my state, it is easier (same cost) for me to order from Wal-Mart dot com and have free shipping to store. No minimum order price, easy return, and often same price or even cheaper then Amazon.

You need to watch out for Amazon, their prices fluctuate, unlike Wal-Mart. Same price or roll back. Seems to me that when you buy something at Amazon at a good price you pay more for the little things that help to get to $35 for the free shipping.

YMMV

Yes, I do like to shop online @ Wal-Mart too, with free shipping to store or home. Prices do fluctuate at Amazon so whatever I have in my cart I look at when I get ready to order to make sure prices haven't gone way up. I am a member of Amazon Prime so shipping is free and if not I have to want it bad to order anyway.

My local RV dealer told me to be aware of the "smoke and mirror" pricing/BIG Sales at camping world. Turns out he is right and after my last order with Camping World and their $18.00 plus shipping charge I am done with them unless I can not locate the item elsewhere!
Amazon seems to be the lowest but my local dealer is very compettive and gives great advise and installation instructions!

YES! buyer beware!!!

You might want to check out tankless water heater posts before getting one. The problem is if you are camping someplace like Washington or Oregon with 45F input fresh water, the heater can only 'warm' the water, not really heat it quickly enough to enjoy a 1.5 GPM 110F shower. If you decrease the water flow enough to heat the water to 110F, then you chance it overeheating inside the water heater, tripping a 120F thermostat, and shutting off the gas valve - giving you a instant 55F shower! Ooh what fun that is!

Yes I agree that Camping World is out there to make a profit. Back in the 60's and 70's, your only choice was to buy retail, or find some wholesale place that would sell you as a company or something. Now you have mail order places that can stock hundreds of items and sell at only a 10% - 15% mark up. A retail store with 20 full time employees and a rent or mortgage payment of around $5,000 a month needs to sell a lot of items and mark them up by 30% to 50% in order to make a profit.

Good luck!

When W/D was on sale at CW and had cheap installation I chose to have the manufacturer install it instead. Saved almost $400 over CW sale price.

You have to watch Amazon. I have noticed recently if I google an item Amazon will come up with a very inexpensive item usually beating their competitors. If I then do a search on Amazon's web site they direct me to higher priced items that are similar. The original item I googled does not show up on their site. Interesting. Now I google first, write down the Amazon stock number, then go to Amazon's site. Great business model. Amazon is not always the cheapest on some items.

Sure you could save money by buying elsewhere. But who wants to buy RV accessories from Amazon or Walmart when you can buy them from a place that specializes in RVs and RV accessories? Buying from CW means you are getting years of expertise and reputation and... and... well, uh... gimme a minute, I'll think of something....

Just about everything I own for my RV TRAILER either comes from WALMART-LOWES-AMAZON hehe...

I will search the internet and other suppliers just to get the part number of what I need and 99% of the time I can order that item from AMAZON with FREE two day shipping and always a great price...

Just like the old SEARS N ROEBUCK catalog from the past years...
