As the signature says, we're replacing our beloved rig we bought and camped to death with a newsie which will finally be complete late next month when our Arctic Fox comes off the line.

We camped our Prowler nearly 140 days last year alone, but it was time to let her go.

I consider myself adequate when it comes to looking at a rig and a trailer and saying 'nice match' or 'YGTBKM' but it's been a long time since I evaluated one for myself.

For the weight police and the serious trailer towers (of which both groups I consider myself a member) please look at my setup and tell me where my holes are. I know all will depend on me properly setting up the hitch but I'm confident in my ability to do that.

Truck:

2015 RAM 3500 4X4 Laramie Crew Cab SRW with 68RFE/3.42 and 6.5 bed. 6.7 Cummins with 370/800.

GVWR = 11700
Payload = 4070 (I know this is optimistic - mine will be lower)
Max Trailer = 17200
FGAWR = 6000
RGAWR = 7000
GCWR = 25300

info here.

Camper:

2016 Arctic Fox 28F Silver Fox Edition

Dry Axle Weight = 6727
Hitch Weight = 772
Gross Dry Weight = 7499
GVWR = 10,400

info here.

Hitch:

Reese RP66155.

I replaced the kit shank with a Reese Titan RP54977 so I wouldn't have to use the slide in adapter in my 2.5 inch receiver.

If I don't need all the drop of the RP54977 I'll go with the RP54976.

I think I have all bases covered but more than once I've had someone say "what about this?" and help me improve my idea.

That's what I'm looking for here.

Hummm...it's going to be close, but probably do-able.

I think you will either need a bigger trailer or or smaller truck.

I'm going to say a smaller truck.
I'd be willing to trade straight across.

Hi neighbor! Sounds like a great combo to me.
We enjoy camping at several places on the island. We already have reservations for next year. (Ft Casey 5/22)

LOL Bothell. That's what I was thinking too, but wanted to make sure I wasn't looking at things cross-eyed.

Actually I was hoping to triple-tow a giant boat like we used to see in Texas.. YIKES!

I see you're pulling a Forest River - Wildcat? - we were looking at one of those ourselves at a couple of Poulsbo dealers.

BTW - you're a neighbor - we live over here on Whidbey!

Thanks for replying.

Anything you see you'd change?
