Coastline Tow Car Shield - opinions?

Wondering if any of you are using the Coastline Tow Car Shield on your toad? Basically an expanded car bra that covers grill, hood, front fenders, and windshield. From www.RVandOffRoad.com - I like the concept, since toad often gets filthy on a trip, but wondering about paint damage from the felt-type backing rubbing/flapping in the wind. My opinion on using bras to try and protect the front of your toad is this. Save your money. Instead take some sandpaper and rough up the front of your toad and windshield with it. You will get the same result over time as using a bra and the sandpaper costs less.

Thanks, everyone! Thinking it might work for us - glad to hear only minimal paint issues. Thinking I could put some 3M clear shield on windshield posts if that is the major rub area. ST

We have one for our PT Cruiser.
I bought it in anticipation of our trip to Tennessee and back, It worked just fine, no problems at all.
We installed it every morning before hitting the road, took it off every afternoon when we stopped for the night. Folding it carefully and storing it in the trunk kept it clean enough that paint damage was not a problem.

We are on our third Coastline bra,. Third toad. Second car and bra we had for 7 years with no problems. Current car and bra for 3 1/2 years. We have had no rock chips. We have been to Alaska and Canadian maritimes. All three toads had minor paint scuffing on the windshield post. I did not consider this to be a problem.

We have one on our Vue, works great. Been using for a few years.

We've used it on 2 brand new toads since 2005 and have not had any paint problems. First was a Chevy Colorado and the current 2011 Silverado. That's over 140,000 tow miles. We go to Alaska every other year so we see more than our share of dust, dirt and rocks.

Yes, you do have to take it off and clean it. We run about 10 days to Alaska and take it off to clean when we get there. Otherwise it stays on for that leg of the trip. To clean we lay on a picnic table, spray it front and back with a hose and let dry.

Don't know about their management problems, but they custom made the one for the Silverado in 2011 and for 2 new Tiffin Allegro Buses.

I've owned Coastline Covers for 4 different toads. The cover is a good concept but it ended up causing more damage than it saved. The company is having management prbs and is not as responsive as it once was.
