Hitch Help Needed - Transfer Old or Buy New

I have a pullrite slider hitch mounted in my 2016 F350 dually. I’m purchasing a 2019 f350 dullay with the puck system. The dealership has agreed to transfer the current hitch to the new truck but I’m thinking it might be smarter to purchase a hitch that will mount with the puck system such as the B & W 5th will hitch.

My thought is this would allow me to easily remove the hitch from the bed when not needed.

Additionally I assume to move the pullrite slider will require some type of adapter kit in order for it to work in the new truck.

Anybody had a similar sitiuation? If so would you share thoughts on best option?

Demco sells and adapter plate to mount older hitches in newer trucks with the puck system. I bought one for my 2018 GMC and it works fine.

Good choice!! Yes, it is very easy to install/remove the B&W hitch for Ford pucks. The base and head are not super heavy either, but very solid built. You will like the ease of operation, and seeing the hitch jaws wrapped around the pin, arm closed, pin lock installed, no question it is secure.

Enjoy that new truck, and the hitch made for it!

Thanks for the input and quick responses. After thinking through it I’m going to go with the new B & W hitch. Appears to be pretty easy to install and take out as needed. I’ll sell the pullrite to help offset the cost of the new hitch.

Pullrite sells the feet to hook into the pucks. They sell them for around $400. Not available at their dealers.

Double check with the dealer that the "free" transfer doesn't have any gotach'yas (like selling you an adapter kit for the price of an entirely new hitch). But otherwise, if you are happy with the hitch, no need to replace it.
