How long will a spare tire last

I was wondering how long will your spare tire last if it is mounted out of the sun light and away from the elements? On my Cameo the spare is mounted under the unit behind the underbelly skin. It is out of the elements and sunlight. I know they recommend a tires life is about 7yrs. when on a trailer, mostly because of the exposure to sun light,and the constant weight on the unit while in storage or not being pulled, but this is not the same with the spare. Any thoughts?

My 12 year old Komfort has the original spare mounted underneath the belly .
It came with a factory " wind down " just like my gmc 2500 .
I upgraded my 4 tires and I have never needed to use the spare .
I wind it down every couple of years to " air it up " .
It might lose a pound or two per year .
And the spare has no cracks in it .
I keep my trailer under a shed .

This probably will not answer your question, but I once purchased a used car that still had the original spare tire in the trunk, and it was 22 years old. When I had a flat, I mount that spare and drove it for several weeks with no problems. When I sold that car, it had a 24 year old spare, and it still looked new.

I change out my motorhome tires after 7 years, but my unmounted spare (to limp to the tire store) is about 10 years old.

Depends on the tire type and brand.

Carlisle says replace every 3-5 years and definitely after 5 years.

LT and P tire mfg has stated replace after 7 years.

Now having said that my '97 5er still has the orig ST225/75-15 D Carlisle as the spare. It hangs under the front between the landing gears.
I upgraded to 16" LT E tires many years ago and the ST spare has never sat on the ground.
