Reviewed the forum on RV Work Camping, lots of good info but could not find a simple example of a resume template for RV workers. If I get no response, I will design my own and share it. Thanks

As someone who has hired literally hundreds of people and at one time owned a Temporary Help Business centered on Engineers of all kinds I can tell you the most important thing is:

Keep it to one page Preferably only the front.

Write the resume SPECIFICALLY FOR THE JOB you are applying for.

Dont bother with all of your many accomplishments in your normal career UNLESS they bear DIRECTLY on the job in question.

And the one thing most people forget is this:

A resume is used to ELIMINATE not the opposite. In other words if the person hiring has fifteen resumes on their desk for a position they never dip into that pile and choose the right one...they go through and Eliminate the obviously not suited, the questionable etc then are left with a much smaller pile.

Your real job with writing a resume is to KEEP IT FROM BEING ELIMINATED.

This is why I put my service in the Peace Corps at the top of the first paragraph outlining my capabilities and experience in general.

The format is not as important as the contents. But it MUST be easy to read and on point.

I would use a format that instead of outlining every date and job in historical order, is more general under headings like:

Customer Service Experience:xxxxxxxx

Computer Systems: I am completely conversant with POS systems, Microsoft Word and Excel....etc

(List other areas that may apply where you have experience or strengths to bring to bear on this particular job.)

Use a general paragraph (short) format to outline your Carreer history and accomplishments, something like:

I Graduated from Oxford University with a Degree in History and made a successful career of Teaching at the university level for 30 years at Various Colleges such as Georgetown and Stanford....

Just give them a sense of who you are and what you can do.

Lastly...Do some research on exactly what they are looking for in a position Maybe even call and ask some questions...dont take up a lot of their time!

I hope the above helps.

Jack and Danielle Mayer have theirs posted on the Escapees forum. It is a very nice example. This site this morning won't allow me to post the link, but if you want to see it, just google " Jack Mayer Escapees work camping resume ".
