New TT So Close, But So Far......

9 months ago my brother and I booked a camping trip for this week which is spring break for the kids. We always head to this local campground to kick off the camping season every year in early-mid April. I have a camper and so does he.

In early December he sold his 28' bunkhouse and purchased a 32' bunkhouse. They told him it should be delivered in mid-late April which could possibly cause a problem with our spring break trip.

His camper arrived at the local dealership on March 30 and our spring break trip was set to start on April 7. We held a glimmer of hope that it would be ready by the day we were supposed to leave or shortly thereafter. I'm sad to say that the PDI is scheduled for April 14, the day we are leaving. Him and his family crashed in my camper with me anyway.

The kicker is that the dealership is about 3 miles from where we are staying right now. The camper was brought almost 800 miles from the factory to the dealership but we just need it to go those extra 3 miles to get from the dealership to the campground. lol

So close, yet so far away.....

Camper arrived at the dealer on March 30 and we still don't even have our PDI scheduled yet. We told them we could do the PDI any day of the week and didn't have to limit it to just Saturdays when the majority of people want it done. Still waiting....

I would not blame it on the financing. That takes less than 30 min if he has decent credit.

I think the dealer is lazy and doesn't care. I would have told them that if they couldn't do the PDI in time for me to go on my trip they could keep it and I'd buy somewhere else.

What do they have to do to them to get them ready? Plug it in test outlets, A/C, Furnace, lights, fridge. Hook a hose to it and check the plumbing?

Wow, I find it hard to believe the dealer couldn't get it done sooner. We purchased our last to rigs during Spring when both dealers were extremely busy with sales and service, still they accommodated our schedule and PDI was performed on the date we chose. Hope the new rig gives your brother many years of quality service, waiting this long I would make sure all is fixed to my satisfaction at the time of the PDI.

I blame it on the dealer. When my brother bought it in December they told him to call in February to arrange financing. When he did that they told him they would handle the financing once it arrives. He called about a week before it came in and the dealer was surprised to hear that he didn't start the financing process.
