Ok the manual is just a generic Onan I assume,
It says run for 2 hrs every month half load.. do you guys do that ?this one has 110 hrs
I did chg the oil and have started it but not let it run too long.
Also it says 459 hrs to chg the fuel filter.. I don’t even see one.
And it says drain the carb bowl to store and pull the plugs out of the exhaust and run it to blow junk out, do you guys do that too ?
I would think if I add Stabil to the fuel run it for an hour with load, shut it down and leave the fuel I. The bowl would be better ?

I have the same generator. In storage, I run it monthly for about 30 minutes to an hour. In the winter I'll have one or two electric heaters on to load it. In the summer I'll run the roof air conditioner to load it. I change the oil once a year. I check the air filter and change as needed. In three years that is about all I've done to it. It has 160 hours on the meter.

Some never do, some use the gen all the time so it’s not needed. But running it every now and then to clear the carb, get moisture out of the oil and electrical parts, remove corrosion that may occur, is a good idea. The last thing you want is to need it, and it not work properly. In the summer, just run the AC while running then gen for an hour. In the winter use a 1500 watt heater to provide the load. If you have a heat pump then it will do both. I wish they came with the same valve as on my Honda lawn mower that shuts the flow of fuel to the carb.
