My power cord has gotten very stiff and hard to roll up. Any way to make it soft again?

Thanks, I did look at the pic but neglected to look close enough. When it was pointed out it was obvious enough. Duh. Thanks for the expanded info though.

What spec SOW cord would you want for 50 amp cord? I mean like wire gauge.

Not sure if you saw the pics or not but the cord I used is 6/3. It came from a jobsite spider box. It is rated 50A.

What makes these cords nice is the this durable covering and the wires are loaded with strands that help carry more current.

There is a thing called SOW cord. It stays flexible to freezing temps. That is the quality that they use on power cord reels. Buy the length you want and add the Camco Yellow ends with the D handle. You will thank me!

If the (your) power cord is 50amp......"The Anaconda" -

The original equipment cord is/was the lowest quality the mfgrs could provide with the RVs they sold.
"Wrestle" it when new or old..:(

Replacement cords are much more flexible.

EX: I replaced my relatively new 50amp Anaconda several years ago with a "combo" of a 12V powered cord reel - which came with a new 50amp cord.
Pull out as much cord as you need, push button to reel it in.
(Pricey - but if/when I sell the RV, the powered reel and cord can stay with me, if I choose).

Difference is Night and Day!..:C

BTW - *If* your power cord is 30amp - no big deal, inexpensive to replace.

Hi,

It will need replacement, so far as I am aware. I cut mine off and added a male plug--that way I only need to tuck in about 3 feet of cord.
