Recommendations for travel size CPaps

I looking at buying a new cpap. Does anyone have one they like/dislike? Did you get the battery pack? If so, how long will it operate you machine?

Humidifier versus room temperature + humidifier heat knob setting has a tremendous influence on how much kWh the Bi-PAP will consume. Add that to an unknown value of hours of machine use per night and the "answer machine" comes up with a giant "?"

My Respironics® BiPAP consumes 17 watts minus the humidifier. 56 watts with humidifier set on "5" the maximum.

With 8 hours of machine use minus humidifier, eleven and a third amperes hours.

With 8 hours of use plus a humidifier at 100% duty, thirty seven ampere hours.

Unless you are a mountain gorilla, the full duty suggests choosing a lithium battery with 50 AH capacity for boon docking if the house battery does not get involved.

All manufacturers using 12-volts as power, absolutely insist on users unplugging the machine from vehicle power source before starting the engine. It's not only to prevent 13+ volts from passing into the machine, when engines are started the 12 volts sees an impressive momentary transient voltage spike.

I tried this with a BiPAP just before I turned it in for a renewal. The LCD display went Sanskrit, so this precaution isn't theoretical. The machine had to be unplugged then rebooted to return to normal. Not only was the screen nuts, the machine would not shut off by pressing the button. THAT got my attention...

She loves how it makes her feel after a nights sleep. Before using it her O2 level was 72. Now 98+. It is a BiPAP machine, which is slightly different than a CPAP.

It is quiet. We have it between us in our Vegas where we utilize the twin bed configuration. Sounds like the ocean to me.

By looking on the Resmed site , I believe that is the direct replacement for the S9 that I use... It looks like mine is no longer availablele

My wife has a Resmed Air 10. I bought a 300 watt inverter and put in a 12V plug by the bed. Works great

I got a new one last year ( I think ) , is it made by Respironics and called the S9 Elite. - - S9-Elite

What I like about it is that is comes in half... When I travel for the weekend in the RV , I only take half and leave the other half ( Humidifier ) home.. I also travel by air , and only take the 1 side , which is about 5" square..

I did purchase the travel bag , and the 12 adapter for the system in case I want to dry camp with it.

I'm looking for one to use at home and in the RV. I figure if I'm going to get one, I might as well get a smaller unit. That said, I want a good unit for full time use.

Please clarify: Do you want the new machine to travel with you in your RV or on an airline trip?

As to in the RV or on car road trips, I just use my regular machine. I bought a 12V power cord to use in the RV. Regular power cord in other lodgings. No battery pack.

You'd want a smaller machine for air trips. Also, if wherever you are going has non-110V electricity, you'd need to accommodate that. Lots of info online at CPAP.com.
