Reese WD setup question.

I'm trying to set up a Reese WD hitch with the dual cam anti-sway. Per the instructions I measured from the top of trailer ball socket to ground. I then tried to set the hitch ball slightly higher but can't. With the truck (F250)and shank I can only get within 3 inches, there's not enough drop on shank. Am I going to be able to make this work? Is my only hope a longer drop shank? I have a 5800 lb. trailer, 600 lb. tongue weight, 800 lb. trunnion bars. Thanks for any help.

Do you have a lift kit on your TV? Did you flip the shank?

Yes, the ball is about 3 inches above trailer socket on level ground with trailer level.

Is the trailer 100% level? Is it on level ground?

When you say 3 inches, do you mean 3 inches above the trailer ball socket? You can increase the hitch head angle back all the way and get the ball a little lower, (tilting the hitch head away from the truck) but it will not make up 3 inches.

If its 3 inches above the trailer socket you will need a new, longer shank.

Probably something like This

Good luck to ya
