RV Sheet Sizes?

I'm renting a Prowler 31" TT with oversized bunk beds this weekend.

The rental place says the bunk beds are 44" wide and the normal length. Also said that a twin sheet should fit yet this doesn't jibe w/ my memory banks of twin size fitted sheets; I'm thinking they really mean flat sheets but figured I'd just ask all you RV owners and stop calling the company with my minutiae questions;).

Oh I also need to know if the D/R convertible bed will fit a queen sized sheet.

I find that the nearest standard size fits loosely, a flat sheet can be installed military bunk tight, if that's how you want and are willing to do the work.

Realistically, fitted sheets no longer can be assured to fit "standard" home mattress sizes, because of the great variation in thickness among various models of the same nominal size. Depending on costruction and where it is marketed on economy to super premium prices, a standard full or queen might be anywhere from four to eighteen inches thick. A fitted queen could be sloppy loose on one and not at all fit the other.

44" is close to a 3/4 size mattress which is 48" wide.

Matresses are

39" wide - twin size
48" wide - 3/4 size
54" wide - full/double size
60" wide - queen size
76" wide - king size
72" wide - California king size

I have a set of jersey twin fitted sheets that fit the long bunks and another set of cotton sheets that did not. I cut across the fitted percale sheet and added a strip of fabric. Both work. We have four bunks, two long and two regular but all are narrower than regular twin beds.

Thanks peoples. I sent an email to the guests saying either bring twin flat sheets or sleeping bags. Rented this RV as my granddaughter's birthday present and yes, I'm still a happy wherever I am a tent camper.

A twin fitted is usually about 39" width, full size fitted is about 54" width and queen is about 90" width. I'd go with the flat sheets and use those elastic straps to keep things snug (especially on thin mattresses that are less capable of keeping the sheets tucked).

The other option is to use your sleeping bags. 🙂

It's common for rigs to have non standard sizes. If you have over sized flat sheets then you won't be doing any last minute shopping.
