Sidewinder Clearance with Hitch

I purchased a sidewinder hitch to use with my cougar but have a problem when trying to level the trailer because I have a 3/4 ton Silverado which sits pretty high. When I raise the SW up high in the trailer attachment bracket, the SW turret doesn't clear attachment bracket of the trailer therefore making the SW non-functional (will not rotate). If I move the SW down to where it clears the bracket the trailer in 3" high in the front which will not work. The Attachment bracket to the trailer is angled like "\"back to front so with the SW attached to the top most holes the front of the hitch attachment extends beyond the SW turret attachment. I've already put 16" tires on the trailer and lowered my hitch in the truck to the lowest point. Iโ€™m looking at sawing the bottom part of the angle portion off to give me clearance. Has anyone done this or have another suggestion on how to make this work? Thanks for any suggestions you can supply.

I used lowering shackles on my old 2500, which worked out well. They are fairly inexpensive.
