Torn Slide-Out Awning

I have an 18 month old slide-out awning from Carefree of Colorado, over our bedroom slide-out. It was installed by the dealer that sold me my 5th wheel. While on our current road trip, it was fine when the slide was brought in in the morning, and when we reached our destination and extended the slide, about 12 inches on one end was shredded and the fabric was turned under itself at the roller on the other end. On the shredded end, there were 2 or 3 slices in the fabric that were perpendicular to the trailer and a few inches apart. Also, at the trailer attachment point, the fabric (and plastic rod) has moved about 1.5 inches to the right and is sticking out of the end of the mounting channel.

Has anyone experienced something like this?

i have experienced the same problem on a lance truck camper.rather than repair or replace at a cost of $300-600 i am going to remove and trash it.lance also about 18 mos.old.carefree colorado not much help without dealer inspection.
