What Vehicles can be Towed 4 Down

I am in the process of deciding on a transition from a TT to a Class C. I will definitely pull a "toad". I am wondering what vehicles with automatic transmissions, besides those generally discussed ie Honda CRV, Saturn, are being used by folks. I realize that most if not all vehicles with standard transmissions can be towed in this manner but the wife will not drive one. So, any help, advice assistance would be greatly appreciated......yes I can do research but am not a fan of reinventing if others have info which is valuable.

Actually, a 4-down towing of standard shift transmissions is NOT all that common anymore. Moot point since you're not gonna get one anyway.

As for auto trans vehicles...many GM, Ford, and Chrysler cars are 4-dow towable. Let us know what "type" of toad you're looking for and I (for one) can look in my 2014 guide and let you know.

Our GMC Terrain (sister to the Chevy Equinox) is a very good toad. A little larger than the CRV, but still small enough to tow behind a Class C that has a 5000 lb towing capacity (yours does...doesn't it?).

Jeeps are probably the most prolific vehicles used for 4-down towing.

There is a section on Rv.Net that is called "dingy towing". It is a great place to get your questions answered.

I had a 1999 Honda CRV, and those seats where pretty thin. Honda listened, and a few years later, the seats became much more comfortable. Now I tow a Ford Edge. I installed the baseplates on both of them.
