I think "testing on animals" refers to pouring something in bunny rabbits' eyes to see if they have a reaction. Just as well they didn't do that.

I understand that no "poor lab animal" was used to test if the ingredients or final formula is harmful. But how do they know the product works without testing on animals?

I'm guessing it means no poor lab rat or monkeys were used to test this product since it only contains the G.R.A.S. ingredients that fordsooperdooty mentioned.

The efficacy of this shampoo was not tested on animals?
Product testing is being performed by customers after product launch?
Perhaps the formula was stolen from an other company (or another SCJohnson product) which was tested on animals.

What they mean is that the ingredients in there are "G.R.A.S."

That means the EPA and chemical manufacturers consider the stuff in there to be "Generally Regarded As Safe"! It's either been around long enough to have a known factor of safe use...or the ingredients have all been determined o be safe for Dogs and you.

Things like this that are in our daughters fancy, expensive hair shampoo!

Off Pet Shampoo Label- "Essential oils including Rose, Geranium, Peppermint, Lemongrass, Thyme and Cinnamon." Sound like my Grandma's Herbal Tea! ๐Ÿ˜‰
