just back from the vets..all sutures are out without difficulty....Dr Gander had the cardiology report....Izzy does have Sick Sinus syndrome...her Holter showed her heart paused 18 times, over 5.0 sec in duration, in a 24 hr period..she also had frequent supraventricular premature beats and occasional second degree AV block...
They feel she will need a pacemaker sometime...but she will always need an external pacemaker with any kind of anesthesia if the internal pacemaker has not been implanted....Dr Gander is going to call Dr O'Sullivan ( cardiologist ) next week to discuss this as Izzy will be living out of country...poor little girl....its says the risk of arrest is much less likely while not under the influence of anesthesia but not negligible..so all in all, not a bad report...she got a nice homemade peanut butter cookie ( dog treat) from the DVM so she was a happy girl.
