DOC & Keith, I's got a question bout my Shampoo &Conditioner

I've been using Virbac Epi-Soothe Shampoo, along with their cream rinse and conditioner for quite awhile. There are presently supply problems, till sometime early of next year.

I wanted to ask for your recommendation/s for an alternative product I could use on the Boy. I do have enough of the shampoo for approx. eight, or so baths (bought the gallon size jug).

However, I'll be needing a conditioner after his next bath.

Thanks,

Pops

DOC & Keith.

I ain't trusting Pops to make this decision, so, I did a bit of search'in myself. Anyways, it's kind'ah sort'ah come down to these two products;

* Vetoquinol Vet Solutions Aloe & Oatmeal Shampoo for Dogs & Cats (soap free)

* Vetoquinol Vet Solutions Aloe & Oatmeal Conditioner for Dogs & Cats

And

* DOC's Foster & Smith (Not Smyth, but Smith) Advanced Formula Oatmeal Shampoo & Conditioner

Thanks,

Calvin

PS I'm gonna make Pops keep the Virbac stuff on hand, till they get it back in-stock.

Mixing and matching brands shouldn't be an issue. Keith's knowledge about products is appreciated and matches my experience.

Doc,
I doubt that! I was fortunate to have worked for two manufacturers and managed two distributorships over the years. Was a salesman for 22 years when I retired. Still miss the people I had the fortune to associate with.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.

CEVA makes comparable products, shampoo and crème rinse. They are all aloe & oatmeal. If you find any product that is basically oatmeal should work.

Doug

Thanks, DOC! I'll look into CEVA's products. ...

BTW, it's OK to use a different brand cream rinse along with the Virbac Shampoo? I mean the Boy's not gonna go up in flames or nothing like that, if I use a different brand cream rinse, right?

Pops,
You might check out this alternative http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=18840&prodid=37339&rel=1
There are a number of colloidal oatmeal shampoos and conditioners on the market. All seem to work pretty well.

Thanks, Keith! I buy the gallon size jug of shampoo from Doctors F. & S, and the 16 oz. cream rinse from Doctors F. & S, or Entirely Pets. Whichever place has the cream rinse in-stock.

I appreciate the heads-up! ...

Pops

PS Thanks again! Now I can relax and catch some Z'ssss.
