Potty training when full timing

Hello everyone,
We just adopted a puppy that is very tiny. She only weighs 2lbs and is 10 weeks old.
She has only had her first set of shots so we can't allow her on the ground in an Rv park because we don't know what's been there before us. We are in a 36 ft MH with two slides. We are training her to use pads. My fear is that she won't learn that potty is an outdoor thing and not an indoor thing.
Anyone had any experience with potty training while fulltimeing?
Honey is a miniture Shih Tzu and will be between 5 & 7 lbs.

The reason Honey can't touch the ground is because she could catch Parvo, distemper or rabies. She has 3 more booster shots, given every 3 weeks and then will be able to touch exposed ground. I'm going to start moving pee pads towards door. I've never posted a pic before and can't figure it out. If I do I will be happy to share baby pics.

Cody was just about 2lbs when I got him and I was full timing. He was with me most of the time, but I trained him using the pee pads. I kept it by the front door and when I saw him going toward it, I would pick him up and take him out to do his business. Immediately took him back in so he knew that is why he was going out. He is not 6 years old and does not have any problem letting me know when he needs to go out. Good luck and I hope you will be posting pictures of your new baby.

When our Sissy was very tiny, we trained her to use the Puppy Pads. Once she got a little older, we had a heck of a time getting her to use the outdoors. We have a fenced area at home and would take her out for extended times, and she would beg to come in and immediately go to the puppy pad. Took a couple of months for her to catch on to doing her business outside. Hope you have good luck with yours.

Smart move---not letting her out and about on the ground until she's older. We lost a Rottie pup at 5 mos. old. She picked up Parvo (somewhere??) when she was between her mother's milk immunity and before the shots' (all up to date from day 1) immunity kicked in. We even took her to the University of PA Veterinary School--they couldn't save her. Ever since I've been cautious taking pups out at a young age.

Why can't she go outside? Will she ever be allowed outside?

Seems like it would be easier as you will be with her 24/7, so no accidents while you are gone.

Just a thought, with Diego, we got one of the plastic tubs designed to go under a bed and put the pads in there for when he can't go outside. The sides are about 5" high so he can't shoot over the top. You could presumably safely train him outside with the tub but bring it in when the weather is bad.

I've never potty trained while full-timing, but I have trained my Shih Tzu to use both potty pads and to go outside, either when we're at home or in the RV. I initially trained him to pads as I found that's the easiest, quickest way to get a small breed puppy trained. He quickly caught on to going outside, too. I think that's instinctual for most dogs. Now he goes outside about 75 percent of the time. Mostly he uses the pad when it's bad weather or we're gone for several hours. Otherwise he holds it and goes outside. And if the pad isn't down he'll hold it.
