Any recommendations on a Probiotic for a 8-year-old Cocker Spaniel with IBD........

I took a sick dog to the vet a couple weeks ago. The vet told me to stop the yogurt because dogs can't really digest it and it ends up causing the problems you are trying to treat. I have given greek yogurt for years. She did give me a probiotic to give along with some other meds and my dog is fine now.

A good supplement will contain much more probiotics than even a full serving of yogurt. The amount of good bacteria in a tablespoon of most commercial yogurts is very minimal.

I opted for the Proviable-DC since his DOC carries the stuff at her clinic. However, I buy it online, and it's been working great for Calvin.

BTW, the instruction says to spread it over the food (it comes in a small capsule), but in Calvin's case, I just give him the capsule.

The probiotics specifically made for pets that I've heard the best things about are Proviable and Fortiflora.
