I discovered a line voltage short to the trailer chassis / body.

When connected to shore power, I measure 120v touching the test meter probe to the checker plate aluminum on the front drop of the trailer with the negative probe stuck in the damp soil beside the trailer.

When disconnected from shore power and generator is running no stray volatge is detected at the same location.

Connect a 100 watt lamp between chassis and ground.

One hopes you will see no light, try a night light (7 watt kind) as well.

There are several conditoins, Now 120 volt is .. not common, but 60 is very common if you have an open ground, and with most generators you do, however the generator shoudl NOT be grounded so you should still have zero volts.

It appears the polarity is reversed at the supply I was connected to. Will report back after sunup and investigation.

One thing for sure, your chassis is not properly connected to Earth Ground at source (via the pedestal).
