2003 beaver santiam leveling jack issue.

Hello, I have a 2003 beaver santiam rv. The RV hasn't been used in a while, but the last time it was used the leveling system worked fine. Now the jacks will not go down.

The battery is charged to about 14v, there is power to the leveling control system. When the buttons are pressed the solenoid does click but the pump does not run. I check the fluid level and the reservoir is full. I'm not sure what the issue is, I could really use some help.

Thanks in advance.

I did what you said and the motor does run. We tested each individual jack and they all functioned. Looks like it's just a faulty pump solenoid. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

On your Brand, Slides in or out does not matter. Doug

There are 2 large posts on the solenoid. One post is from the Battery(12 volt POS). The other is a short cable going to the pump motor. VERIFY you have the same 14 volts to the solenoid as at the battery. If so, you can use a short 6 gauge or larger battery cable to jump those 2 large posts. You do NOT have to activate from the inside touch panel switches. IF the PUMP motor runs, you motor is GOOD and that solenoid is bad. If the pump motor does not run, then the Motor is bad. Doug

On mine the slides have to be in before jacks go down. Are the jacks hydraulic?

The manual say model 22.5A J-II leveling system.

That is a RVA Jack system. They went out of business in 2005 when Monaco pulled the rug out from underneath them. They were an exclusive Jack supplier to Monaco on certain models and built a VERY GOOD/RELIABLE 3 point jacks system. They did not supply aftermarket installs, just part replacement. The Partial good news is, the owner has other business's and he still makes certain replacement parts and Jack rebuilds if needed. This link will get you to his web and troubleshooting info. Doug

I'm not sure on make and model, it's not our RV, but we are using it for a bit and trying to get everything working. I can try to find the model of the jacks. Do the slides have to be retracted, in the manual it doesn't say anything about slides needing to be in. I'll give it a try though.

What make and model are your Jacks? If HWH they have a good trouble shooting guide on line. Check the simple things first like the interlocks, parking brake not just set but the light is on also, slide fully retracted, cables cleaned and tight from battery to motor, is the solenoid that clicks passing current through it, it may click but contacts could be burnt and not pass enough amps to start pump. If you post you make and model you will get more specific help from owners with the same system.
