If you are not the original owner, then someone has rewired(miswired) the Control system. It should NEVER do that. Does the Floor Heat (furnace) ignite and get hot when this happens? It should if the furnace fan blower runs. Also, your wall Tstat, is it a RVP(Coelman) Or Dometic(duotherm) brand on it? IF NOT, then someone has installed an aftermarket home type Tstat and that is probably miswired. Doug

Do you have "cool"only option on thermostat?

AUTO mode does NOT activate both the COOL and HEAT systems. It only activates when you select COOL mode or HEAT mode. ALL Auto does is allow the Fan to shut OFF when the Roof AC temp is met. Doug

Texas is famous for huge daily temperatures changes, but living at higher elevation in California, I can have 586F at 7 AM and 102F at 2 PM.
So full auto makes sense unless you have well insulated house.

Ok, there are two meanings to AUTO.

1: On my A/C "Auto" is an option on FAN SPEED. and that is what it controls.

2: on some advanced Thermostats AUTO means "Automatic selection of heat or cool" and if it's cool, so you turn up the thing (increase the temp set point) you get heat.

Sounds to me like working as designed,, Operator understanding error.

I am from Michigan where this kind of thing would be real, real, handy don't you know.

If your system is cooling, and you ask for a lot warmer than it is in the coach, I can see where the system would think you want heat. Normal, in other words...
But do this, post make/model of A/C and Furnace and Thermostat. Ideally, pic of the 'stat. I doubt I can help you, but the odds of somebody else are much greater with specifics about the equipment involved.
