I am so sorry if this has been asked I can not find it.
2008 Berkshire diesel

I am going for my practical exam and they are asking that I check my pushrods and adjust if needed.

I can not find anything that will say if this is possible on a motorhome

Seems You have to Crawl under it to do that.

Does anyone know what I need to do for this part of the practical exam.

I am taking my motorhome for the exam

Thanks so
Much

Never crawl under a diesel pusher with airbag suspension, you can get crushed. To my knowledge the push rods are self adjusting on motorhomes. Don't know what state you're in but states like Cally don't require air brake testing. Only CDL drivers need to understand air brakes.

Before you go in for the test, I'd suggest searching YouTube for Air Brake Pre-Trip Inspection. If you're lucky, the tester won't ask for one, but if they do, you better know how to do one. At the same time, your pushrod questions will be answered. You'll also be a safer driver.

Look up air brake adjustments on the internet. The air brake push rod length seen when the brake is applied is an indication of when the brakes need an adjustment. Even with automatic adjusters the brakes may need to be manually adjusted. The job is not difficult and can vary depending on what type adjusters are installed. I check and adjust my brakes at each major maintenance cycle and find the manual adjustment gives a more uniform push rod length than depending on the automatic adjusters. This does not mean that the automatic adjusters are not working properly, just that they may not be as precise as a manual adjustment.
