Air Condition

I fulltime and it has been 95-100F with high humidity here in DC area for a week now. I have a 15K main AC unit set on T-stat to 76F. I also have been running a 13.5k unit in upstairs bedroom off and on. This unit is not set to any T-stat and runs as a switch , Example... Low, Med. and High.. The main unit starts running at 9 in the morning an doesn't turn off til 9pm. That's with bedroom unit on 75% of that time on low.

Now on a Home unit you should expect a 15-20 degree split. But is that similar to a RV A/C Unit?

Currently here in DC as I write this at 11am
Outside temp-85F
Inside T-stat set to 76F
Bedroom unit on Low and blowing 50F air
Temp prob in Vent/ Temp Split or Air blowing temp is 67F

that seems high. My Briskair runs about 55°

Any chance the A/C is drawing its "return" air from someplace other than the living space of the RV? Like outside, the area between ceiling and roof...?

Here's a diagram of an RV rooftop A/C

Have you cleaned that Evaporator Coil and Drain Pan area, the Blue Coil to the left of the drawing, and the part below it? You need to remove shrouding to reach it, not just the plastic machine cover.
The outside Condenser Coil, Red Coil to the right, can be cleaned too. I haven't ever found much there, but this I DID learn: The edges of the Condenser should have air baffles to the sides of the plastic cover. This keeps hot air from being pulled back into the coil.

at 100F i turn the A/C to full on, it does NOT cycle, its easier on the generator, too Not do constant compressor restarts every few minutes
but i am NOT on shore power, i am on generator
NO brown out issues, but at 108F last Sunday {1 week ago today), i burned 5 gal of gas aka $15

it was do that or roast in sweltering heat

Being in the sun, or having the sun shining on a portion of the rv (or even house) will make a difference. Our AC is currently running non-stop because the sun is shining on one side of it ( the side where the thermostat is located). Even though it's set on 85, it's currently 76 in here. Later when we are in the shade the thermostat will again be accurate and the setting and temp in here will match.

Look at your condenser coil on the roof, take a picture of it and post it up. Why do you run the bedroom on LOW?

Find a tree and shade to park under. heat from direct sun is hard to block
