Aqua Magic IV toilet part

Just took my thetford Magic IV apart for a rebuild. Now here's a laugh first. The only thing Magic I find is the presence of 1000 household fly pupi corpses inside the two halves of the assembly (inner airspace). Well not really Magic when I realized they were getting in through the roof vent then through the tank up into the unit.

Anyway a piece fell out that may have broke in in the process and I can't determine the location or Id of it on any diagrams (1/4 adapter shown).

I couldn't find any good pictures, but I did find a HORRIBLE video that shows the part on the vacuum breaker. Look at 7:29 and 11:10 and you can see the white band.

I see no conjoined components or suggestion of where it should be placed.

I haven't seen one for quite a while. If I remember correctly I think it goes around the reservoir assembly to hold it together. I also seem to remember it wasn't really a critical part. Not necessary. You could just put a zip tie around it if you were worried about it. I think there might be a groove that makes it obvious where to put the zip tie.

A part on our RV toilet broke and we learned that parts were not available, so we ordered a new toilet, then ew found a new part. That was a few years ago, the new toilet is still in it's shipping box.

I see the black band, mine is white of course but where does it go?

It is the black band in the replacement part number 24630 reservoir assembly.

Google Thetford 24630 and look in the images.

I couldn't find the sheet I thought I had on the rebuild kit but did find the following online.

Certain aspects of camping are sooooo pleasant. I think I have a sheet that came with the rebuild kit. I'll see if I can find it.
