You can buy a drain valve fitting that has a hose fitting on it to back flush into your tank just before where you install the drain hose. You can also buy a gate valve that goes on the end of your drain line. If you need to back flush up to your gate valve into the tank. I would buy the two adapters I talked about. Put on the back flush adapter on the end of the trailer drain line. Put on the gate valve put the drain hose to the sewer. Close the added on gate valve back flush into the tank with the water hose adapter turn off the back flush water, drain continue until clean water comes out of the black tank.

So your toilet isn't plugged ?
It's the tank drain valve not opening?

Tank drain valve........you need to access the valve. If you have an enclosed underbelly that means cutting a 3 sided window (access panel) so that you can use a pliers on valve shaft and pull it open then you can repair valve if possible or replace as needed.
Is it time for your medication or mine?

My method is 100% fool proof, is very simle, doesn't cost money, and doesn't make people wait in line behind you while you diddle daddle around washing out holding tanks.

Never dump before driving some distance, or at least around a few corners, even if you leave a camp ground, and drive back in.

When I dry camp in the desert, I need propane and black dump at about the same time. So I get propane first, then dump. 100% fool proof.

If the clog is between the toilet and the black tank, you pretty much do what you would do in a house. Turn off the water, press the foot valve open and use a plunger. If the plunger doesnt work, its time for a snake.

Like path1, I fill the bowl 3x after dumping and then just use a normal amount of water with use. I settled on 3 bowl fulls by pouring a gallon of water in the bowl and seeing how much water the bowl held. A very full bowl was one gallon.

I also have a Tornado that I use occasionally to help help the tank clean.

Some tank configurations/dimensions are simply shallow and a PITA. Ours is like that and it doesn't take much for a pyramid to build up below the toilet. We need to do a thorough flushing before heading home otherwise it plugs up in no time on the next trip out. An in-tank flusher is better, but if you don't have one a back-flush elbow will help but won't reach everything in there. A wand down the toilet may help.

For a really stubborn build-up of solids in a tank, Liquid Drano will work great. Add about 5 gallons of water and go for a drive to make it slosh around. Tank will be like new after. Have done that twice with ours now. I think it's Thetford that makes a blavk tank cleaning chemical but the outdoor temp. needs to be something like 70F.

Prevention is the best cure. Always add 3-5 gallons of water before using the tank. And don't let it dry out and sit empty at home between trips keep a little water in it.

You could put some water in it and rock the trailer back and forth so the water sloshes to help break up the plug if it is really bad. we had a Forest River that for some reason allowed the paper to plug up after just a couple uses. I poured water (clean) from a bucket held up high with the toilet valve held open to get some velocity. it took a couple bucket fulls, but it finally broke up and drained.

After that I had my wife and kid use more water.

I got tired of trying to get females using more water. After flushing out tank I now fill the bowl up 3 times with water to the rim to get a jump start on the "not enough water" issue. If you don't have any other problems this works great. Regular "septic safe" paper for us.

Just returned from my maiden voyage with my new TT. I somehow developed the pyramid below the toilet drain in just 2 days. Drain valve was closed. After finding toilet paper still in toilet a couple of times after a pee flush I can only assume the wife didn't use nearly enough water with flushes.
Tank drained fine but had to use a stick to mash **** down and thank goodness for the black tank Flush.
