When I replaced my old rusted out burner with the new style flare fitting I used the existing Al gas line and just flared the end. You can see from the above picture the "S" tube has plenty of length to it. I used a tube cutter and flare die both of which I had already. Chris Bryant's advise was very helpful on this project.

This looks doable. I assume flared ends and friction couplings?

Sorry, Didn't get back here till late today.
I had to make a new gas pipe from copper tubing. About $8 in tubing and fittings at Aubuchon hardware.

Why not do a REAL burner area tune-up. A lot better than just using compressed air.
Most refrigerator owners manuals on older models covered what needs to be done. Suspect many newer ones just suggest taking it to a dealer. But you should be able to find instructions, or ask and we can post them.

All I could afford wrote:Mine is an '88 with electronic spark. It runs beautifully for awhile. It wouldn't relight the other day...it was HOT. After an hour it reset with no problem. Let us see about the next time.
I feel your pain... My fridge is a 1999 old school push to spark unit. Works great on electric, but every time I go to use it on propane I get a lazy flame and no cooling. I then grab the air hose and give a quick little spurt or two thru the burner and it works perfectly... For a few days... Then I need to shoot it with air again... Seems worse if I drive around then if I stay parked.

I did an RV.net blog post about cleaning that- they have lost all of them but archive.org has them

Officially, that old burner and tube are not available or replaceable. The new burner, orifice and tube from any 6 or 8 foot N series should work fine, though all must be replaced if you replace any of it, and the tube will have to be formed to fit.

Be prepared to replace the gas supply pipe. Mine was aluminum and there was no way to loosen the fittings without breaking the tubing.
What model fridge??
