Dometic Oasis over the door awning - One arm is not springy

I have an Oasis manual over the door awning that is giving me some problems. When I unroll it, the left side acts normal, but the right side doesn't want to unfold the same as the left. It's like the RH Arm spring is not springy. I can see the cables in the arm elbow, and they slightly bunch up when the arm extends. I can help it unfold and it will unfold all the way out and appear normal, but if I push on the right hand side of the awning when it is fully extended, it will EASILY elbow in. It's like the RH spring arm is not springy anymore. Can these arms springs be adjusted? Or do I need to purchase a new RH Arm spring? Hopefully it can be repaired and not have to be completely replaced.

Its the spring tension on those arms that assist the deployment of the awning. On my electric model the clutch mech went out resulting in the awning deploying! Luckily, we where not on the move.
I do remember googling for a parts source and comming up short. If someone knows of a good parts source please post.
I did a field repair on the clutch and to this day, 2 years later its still working.

Mine is exactly like that. It is the left side as you are facing the fifth wheel. Been that way for years. i just unroll a little, then reach out the door and give the stuck arm a yank and it pops right out. The cause is some sort of binding in the fold up mechanism, I just have never fiddled with a fix if there is one. My money is that the spring/shock is not your problem.

Thanks for the feedback, when yours is completed extended, can you easily push on that one side and make it fold in? Mine has no tension on that one side. So my problem may be slightly different. It not only extends out needing help on that side, that same side has no tension when fully extended.

Those Oasis awnings are a real P.I.T.A.
I have an electric and the motor gearbox went south. Could not find the parts needed so i had to repair myself.
Not sure what to tell you. Id do some Googling.
Others might have suggestions.
