97 truck camper with RM2310, works fine on electric, doesn't cool as well on propane. can't get temp down to 40 on propane.

Cleaned the burner there was a little piece of rust in one jet. the flames look good nice blue. Tapped on the flue with the burner covered, little bit of rust/carbon came down not a lot.

anyone give any advise/tips on where to go from here. just talked to dometic, of course they were no help.

also anyone tell does the flame adjust at all. Put thermo on MAX and flame is the same as when on a lower number ?

Any advise etc appreciated.

By "orifice", do you mean the "jet"?

Have run across this before and the problem was the orifice. Clean with alcohol and put the orifice to a light and look through it. The hole if clean is perfectly round not jagged. tctrkca

Mine did the same thing. Poor cooling on gas, OK with electric. The part with the orifice was rusted up inside. You couldn't see that until the part was removed. $100 later and it works fine.

You might try a propane place that sells & services appliances to get the regulator's output checked. The folks who I buy propane from on a regular basis checked and adjusted mine for free. All the RV service shops just wanted to replace the regulator. Or you can order your own manometer for about $25 + $10 shipping from Dwyer, inc. The pressure should be about 11 inches of water column with at least two appliances running.

Based on my recent experience, good flippin' luck on getting a new door gasket from Dom-'we-don't-carry-that-anymore'-etic.

Found a very "little" crack in the door seal. wonder if that can be repaired r must it be replaced ?

Regarding fridge too large to remove: ( If you ever have to )
If you have a large enough window, pop it out to replace the fridge, its easy to do by removing the trim screws.

Check the door seal , be sure its in good condition.

Not getting cold enough could be a thermostat or the cooling unit .
There is a way to bypass the thermostat to see if things are working or not.
Personally i have never tried it. All i can suggest is this link where he tied into a 110 power source to bypass the Thermostat.
All i can find on it is the following: its for a diif. model dometic but the process is the same.
Good luck , hope things work out , Bob

Chris Thanks

No I didn't clean the orifice, will try that. LP regulator is the original as well.

This frig worked perfectly when last used, probably back in 2002. camper sat outside since then.

Did you clean the orifice? Remove it and soak in alcohol, air dry and reinstall. Checking the LP pressure is required as well- on a '97, if you haven't replaced the LP pressure regulator, I would just go ahead and replace it.
If it cools well on electric, it can cool the same on LP, unless the welds between the flue and boiler tube have broken (something I have never seen).

We have a 96 11ft Lance camper. We battled with the very same fridge problem for 2 years. Worked perfectly on electric, only cooled to 50 on propane. We tried everything, including draining the propane lines, cleaning vent, changing the "card" etc. 2 dealers and an RV Tech could not help. So we bought a new fridge. Then we found we could not get the fridge out of the camper...the doorway was too narrow!!! Dismantle the fridge or cut the doorway??? The dealer opted to removethe door and enlarge the doorway, remove/ reinstall the new fridge and repair (like new) the doorway. All included in the quoted installation costs. We were advised by Lance that the camper was constructed around the fridge!!!! They could have installed a slightly bigger door, eh???

I have the same model in a 2008 Everest. What model is yours?.. I have had a lot of problems with mine. Mainly the temp in the defrost mode drops down to 40 degrees and lower. Some times it seems to forget to come on, so I turn it off then turn it on and reset it.I ordered a dinosaur replacement. I also was wondering how to get the eyebrow off, to check that.I just looked again at your model and seen it was not the same one I have . I have the DM1350
