Drain slots in windows

If the windows are shut tight should any water be coming in the window sills? We had some carpet get wet after a real heavy rain and noticed the drain holes were not letting out water. We blew air into them and used a piece of wire to try and clean them, noticed a lot of dirt coming out holes when we would pour water into the sills. Is there a way to clean out from under the rubber seal on the channels other then taking out the rubber? We're thinking maybe the water on the carpet came from the drain holes being plugged, any ideas?

I have to use compressed air to blow out the little slots in the bottom of window channel on mind several times a year.

Is there any chance it was condensation from the inside?

If you are full-timing or camping in the winter and you don't have any vents cracked open to let moisture out, then you can get lots of condensation happening and more if raining heavily outside. And if the weep holes are plugged up, the condensation can't get outside. You should make sure all the weep holes aren't plugged up so condensation can always get out.

Took out a radio on my RV.. no, water should not come in, key word SHOULD.. fact is.. It often does. If you can figure out why, FIX IT.

Setting rubber in the sun for a bit will also help make it more flexible and supple. When I've replaced window seals before I've always let them got very arm in the sun first - make the job a lot easier.

I used some Armorall on the rubbers. Used plenty of it to "soften" them up. They pushed back in very easily. This will make them more pliable. Other rubber cleaners will work.
Clean the track good while you have them out. Use some Armorall on the whiskers to clean them.

Pulling them out looked easy, one was loose on the corner, but putting them back in how did that go, did you need a rubber hammer or what to get them in?
