Electric Blanket with Inverter

I just picked up a 450 watt inverter and will be traveling out west and Walmart camping on the way out. Our truck camper has a single 27 group battery and curious if the battery and inverter is sufficient to operate a dual control, queen size electric blanket for about 8 hours, during the night.

First, wrong inverter. 2nd, find out how many watts is the blanket. Doing a quick search, I find 160 watts average for a queen. Doing the math, for 8 hours, no loss for inefficiencies, you will use 110 amp/hours of electricity. So, running nothing else, and not having any inefficiencies, you need a battery that will deliver at least 220 amp/hours.

Really heavy emphasis here to second the opinion a standard inverter will smoke the blanket controller in seconds. You have to use a Pure Sine Wave power inverter. I fit a comforter atop the electric blanket to minimize power consumption. A THINSULATE® blanket on top of the electric blanket will eliminate around 80% of the kWh requirements as compared to a regular blanket. This means using one heck of a lot less of the battery per night.

Unfortunately, that blanket automatically turns off after 45 minutes. Not great for all not warmth!

You need a pure sine wave inverter to run it. A modified sine wave inverter will damage the blanket.
