Flooded battery levelling

I am rebuilding my battery tray to accommodate a trojan T-1275.

The space available for it, seems to have been made just to confound every orientation possible to stuff such a battery in a location originally designed for a group24, perhaps a 27.

So The space is there, but my bulkhead connector through the firewall, the wires are in the way. I can move the wires in, but they will then push themselves against the battery case.

Now if it were acceptable to lean the battery, perhaps 10 degrees off level, the wires would not have to bend in such a tight radius, putting less strain on the bulkhead connector. This would be the battery tipped forward along the longer 13 inch edge, not 7.13 inch side.

I know it is not ideal. But the only real issue I see is that plate sheddings would tend to build up on one end faster and more quickly short out a cell when nearing the end of useful cycle life.

But perhaps there is something I am not considering.

Opinions on this?

Not looking to go AGM, and another location is not happening. A T-1275 will go here. Period. Level or slightly tilted.

Metal plate separating battery from wire bundles and connector? I guess that would be a back side to your battery tray. Maybe combine it with the foam packing Mex mentions.

Use electronics soft packing foam as a buffer. The kind you can squeeze. Works like a charm. Your connector uses Delco Packard terminals.

The bulkhead connector is a stock Mopar one passing through the firewall with approximately 45 different contacts inside it.

It is not going to be moved.

I've moved/rerouted the wire bundles Leading to it. So they can bend downwards instead of outwards

The battery will fit, but having these wire bundles leaning against the side of the battery is not ideal.

Leaning the battery forward will not relieve as much pressure on this wire bundle, as I originally believed

I would mount level and reconfigure the terminal connections as needed.
I am willing to bet a Boudin Round that stationary batteries in San Francisco are installed level.

Nah. Ya gotta CROSS OVER THE BRIDGE to get to the locus of the infection. Moron County. But then again there is Bezerkeley across the other bridge. An ultra-heavy-duty ball bearing drawer slide makes sense in some applications. Quicksilver has teak deck flooring to access the L16's. if there's a Will there's Melvin Dumar, I mean, a way.

Is it a big headache to relocate the firewall pass-through?

I have a boat with two flooded cell batteries. The boat lives on a hinged float such that the bow is near the hinge point, and the stern goes up and down with the tide, from level to 35 degrees. One battery is mounted such that the tilting is on the short side with the other battery having the tilting occur on the long side. Each battery is on an automatic charger, and each is at least 2 years old. Both are still in good condition.

I don't think a 10 degree tilt will hurt, but just my opinion.

Another solution might be to install a TERMINAL STRIP from BLUE SEA. Perhaps relocating this you can connect your ring terminals cables to this and maybe only one short jumper actually going to the BATTERY ring terminal connections.. They also come with a snap on cover as well...

Might free up some valuable space you need...

How much liquid will be above the plates on the uphill side? Will they become exposed to air as the liquid moves due to the motion of the vehicle?
If leaking out of the caps isn't an issue and the plates stay covered it should work.
I would want my battery level, however. I would do whatever was necessary to have the battery sit level.
