Hi All,

Looks like 90% may be too high. This real life study from November 2020 is for Battery Electric Vehicles--it is an interesting but long read. The car is a BMW i3. It is not clear to me what the chemistry of the battery pack is.

The math is beyond my pea sized brain.

Comparing a high C charge/ discharge (EV) to a low C charge/ discharge (rv/ off grid) are not equal playing fields and it appaers there is a lot of reference from 6-7 years ago which I'll bet it isn't Lifepo4 chemistry.
12v 500ah, 20 cells_ 4s5p (GBS LFMP battery system). 8 CTI 160 watt panels (1,280 watts)2s4p,Panels mounted flat. Magnum PT100 SCC, Magnum 3012 hybrid inverter, ME-ARC 50. Installed 4/2016 been on 24/7/365, daily 35-45% DOD 2,500+ partial cycles.

ya considering that tesla is the first one to move to LFP and that was only in china and last year this will be one of the older. funny though as other companies are raising there charge from 80% to 90% touting new charging algorithims (cant spell that one haha) good artical though, I skimmed over this one before. we have to remeber though they are talking about the speed of the expected degradation which is the cycle life of the battery. we also have to remember that even if the cycle life of the battery is over that doesnt mean that you have a garbage battery left it just means you only have 80% of the original capacity, but you could still operate for a long time like that. just would have to fill up every 400km instead of 500km.
