Mchero. Was very simple....new one was almost identical, fit perfectly, had the same male pins on the rear

I have an Onan Marque Gold 7000 with a remote hour meter in the fiver. Whether digital or old style it is powered by 12 volt off the genny while running. If you want to change to digital, hook it up the same way. If want to put hours on the new meter, simply hook it to a 12 volt supply and let it run until the hours show what you want before wiring it into the Onan.

What do you do about zero hours on your meter 'if" you do change to electronic? Can you add the needed hours to get it back to current?

Considering no body know what generator we're talking about it's hard to make a good recommendation. However, it is almost assuredly not 120v.
Most Onan and other quality generators use a 12v meter. Many portable types wrap the spark plug wire as bgum mentions.

It is my understanding that the timer runs by wrapping a single wire around your spark plug wire. That should give you a good idea of the voltage. Check YouTube for how it works.
