I bought a 2017 keystone carbon 357 from 007 rv outlet in dansville va back in March. I noticed a stress crack in the fiberglass by the front bedroom slide. My dealer will fix it but it is a 6 hr drive, I have a camping world in Fredericksburg va that I think will do the repair I amm wondering if anybody has dealt with them. I want to make sure this repair looks like new when it is done. When I spend this kind of money on a camper I want perfection on the repair.

Is the crack in the corner of the cut out where the slide goes in? If so that is where the largest stress would occur. These are usually fixed by adding doublers to the 90 degree corners, or reinforcements to the substructure underneath.

Great advice. How many hundreds of miles away is the factory?

My comments..

1. It's under warranty take it to the dealer where you bought it or call the factory and let them arrange a 'competent' repair facility of their choice, not yours.

2. Reason being is, if you take it 'somewhere to be repaired and the factory don't authorize it, you eat it entirely with no recourse.

X2. As others have suggested you may very well have a structural issue that needs to be repaired.

Just a heads-up on fiberglass repair---The best fiberglass guys are the ones that work on boats. They can match gel coat color and are able to make small cracks disappear.
As others said, I would want to know the cause of the cracking. A broken weld in the wall frame would sure do it.

I'd contact Keystone and explain what you found, and ask their opinion on who to take it too.
A mom and pop which will let you deal with the owner on scheduling would be a primary consideration.
CW is always dealing with large quanities of units and all too often becomes a six month project.

I wonder why it cracked.

Yeah that would be my biggest concern. It will come back if the underlying cause isn't remedied.
