Necessary Tools to Carry

Suggest you throw a piece of pipe in your tool compartment. The truck broke down and I had to have the FW towed. I have a slider hitch so have a capture plate attached to the Morryde pinbox, and the tow operator required me to remove the plate. I had a rachet and the correct sized socket, but it takes a breaker bar to get the four bolts off. In fact, I needed a piece of 3' pipe to put over the rachet to get them started.

We have enough tools to pretty much fix almost everything on the RV. Some special things like something to pull the radiator we don't have but since it is a rather large thing and would take (according to the professionals about 24 hrs) to pull we would rather let them do that particular thing if we ever need it and we don't right now (knock on wood, lol).

I looked at the torque multiplers on Amazon and the one that's half the price of the one above, has a very similar ratio, but very poor reviews.

be careful using cheater bars on ratchets, the internal gears are nothing but plastic and a cheater will destroy them.

Use a Torque multiplier link instead of a breaker bar. A little costly but it will remove just about any nut including the ones on semi trailers and class A motorhomes.

I learned not to use a cheater on a ratchet but desperate times call for desperate measures. It doesn't seem to matter what tools I carry, I don't have the one I need.
