Onan 7500 Quiet Diesel genset oil leak help.

I had the genset serviced and a few days before we were leaving, I noticed a small spot under the genset.

The drain wasn't leaking, it looked like it was dripping off the filter and it was tight.

I drained the oil and replaced the filter. It almost looked like the filter itself was leaking around the seam.

I ran it 4-5 minutes while staring at the filter with the door open; no leaks.

The next day there was a new small puddle.

It was not leaking before getting it serviced. I will probably take it back to the service guy when we get back.

Question is; has anybody had a non filter leak? If so what was it?

Genset has 3500 hours on it.

Wild guess:
I find it is next to impossible to fill my gen without some spilling out and running down the outside of the fill/check hole to somewhere on the bottom of the unit. Mine also has a partial pan under there, so I've not noticed any oil dripping. And mine is an entirely different model.

Could well be when it was serviced to begin with the the seal on the old oil filter stuck to the generator and the new filter installed right over it. When you changed the filter did you take a rag and wipe down the flat surface that the filter seals against?
