Ouch! New Generator, Great Service

We're on our way to Alaska. While heading to Idaho Falls, our generator wouldn't run. We called Cummins/Onan and got the name of an authorized service facility in Idaho Falls. We called H&H Diesel Inc./Alpine SOS @ 208-529-3740 and they were able to see us as soon as we pulled in around 4 pm. With no quick fix in sight, we returned the next day and spent about 5 hours troubleshooting the old genset. Calls to Phoenix, Missoula and Billings for assistance were unsuccessful. We decided to have a new one installed. We're traveling with four other rigs and needed to rejoin them. A new genset was ordered and arrived the following day at 1:20. We were back on the road at 2:30, heading to Great Falls to rejoin our friends. If you're in the Idaho Falls area and need repairs to generators, diesel engines, trailers, towing, give them a call. We were extremely satisfied with the service.

About 3 years ago the carburetor on our Onan Marquise Gold 7000 started to go belly-up. Started to look for one as we where on our way south from Montana. Tried in Kalispell, MT. "nope, the closest carb is in Seattle" the computer showed. Next call was to Rocky Mountain Onan in Missoula, MT., "nope we would have to order it". So further down the road we were in Idaho Falls for several days and I stopped at State Trailer Supply knowing they had small Onan stuff like spark plugs, filters, etc. The counter guy said "no", but sent me just up the road to H & H. Went in the door and an older counter guy greeted me and I asked if he had the carb, by now I knew the part number from memory. He said " I better as that is for an Onan Marquise Gold 7000. I try to keep at least four of them in stock as when one of those comes in for repair, within 15 minutes, the tech will be in here looking for one". A moment later he was back from the shelves with the carb in hand. Sure made me happy!
